Health officials say residents need to be reminded about safety when it comes to snow removal since it has been several years since the region has seen this amount of accumulation.

If you have a snow blower, make sure the machine is turned off before attempting to clear any clogs from the mechanisms.

If you are shoveling, take small amounts at a time and lift with your legs, not your back.  Officials say incidents of heart attacks escalate when people have to do heavy shoveling.
