While Broome and Tioga Counties in the Southern Tier and the Northern Tier of Pennsylvania are only looking at a little bit of snow accumulation today and gusty winds, things are a little more serious in central New York.

The National Weather Service says a Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 7 p.m. for Chenango Cortland, Delaware and Otsego Counties as well as parts of Oneida, Cayuga, Madison and Onondaga Counties.

Forecasters are calling for snow and blowing snow with additional accumulations of three to five inches, especially at higher elevations.

Winds could gust as high as 35 miles per hour.Officials caution motorists to plan on slippery road conditions, especially over the higher elevations.

Blowing snow could also reduce visibility, impacting the morning commute.
