Seton Catholic Standouts Announce College Choices
Two local standout student athletes from Seton Catholic Central High School have announced their choices for furthering their education and athletic careers. Michael Korchak, the New York State Class C baseball player of the year, will attend Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pa and play for the Bison. Jordan Ann Wilson, a 2nd Team Division II All-star pick, will attend Niagara University and play lacrosse for the Purple Eagles.
Wilson will receive a full scholarship to continue her lacrosse career at Niagara. Niagara is a member of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. Korchak was a key cog in the Saints New York State Public High School Athletic Association Class C Baseball Championship. He finished the season with a pitching record of 6-0 and a batting average of .448. He and fellow southpaw Pat Gosney formed a formidable 1-2 punch on the mound for the Saints.
Korchak fired a complete-game shutout win over Pierson-Bridgehampton to seal a 1-0 decision in the state semi-finals. Bucknell is a member of the Patriot League and is the nation's largest private liberal arts school.
