Seton Catholic Central High School has announced an initiative to help students learn more about technology.

Principal Richard Bucci says the school on Binghamton's West Side is introducing a pre-engineering program. It's affiliated with the Rochester Institute of Technology.

Bucci says the program is known as Project Lead the Way. It will emphasize the fundamentals of engineering.

The principal says it's important for schools to have a strong focus on science, technology and math to prepare students for the "realities of the 21st century global economy."

Bucci says classes at Seton Catholic Central are scheduled to start Thursday.
