Sam Sessoms shocked the Columbia Lions with a stellar shooting display in the second half to power his Binghamton Bearcats from a 19 point second half deficit to a last tenth of a second loss on Wednesday night. The remarkable record-setting performance was one rarely scene over the history of Binghamton basketball.

Sessoms hit seven three-point baskets scoring 21 of his overall 25 points in the second half versus Columbia.  He went 7-8 from beyond the arc in the second half and set a BU record with seven three's in a single half.  21 points in a half put him third in that department in school history.  Fans were riveted on Sessoms whose baskets were perfectly launched hitting nothing but net on the way through.

The "shock and awe" dropped on Columbia by Sessoms was one seldom seen by BU fans. Many can recall J.C. Show's 34-point game vs. Central Connecticut on November 16, 2016 as the only similar performance on the Events Center floor. Binghamton won that game 72-70.  Others were listening to News Radio 1290 WNBF when Dusan Perovic scored 34 points on December 3, 2015 on the road against Boston University.

Sessoms will lead his Bearcats into the opening game of the America East schedule on Saturday afternoon at 2:00 P.M. at the Events Center when the New Hampshire Wildcats come to town.  Coverage begins at 1:45 P.M on News Radio 1290 WNBF.
