Sergiy Stakhovsky defeated Wayne Odesnik 6-4, 7-6 to capture the Levene Gouldin & Thompson Tennis Challenger this afternoon at Recreation Park in Binghamton.  Stakhovsky had advanced to the final round with a 6-2, 6-4 victory over Daniel Cox yesterday.  Odesnik got his spot in the finals by topping Takanyi Garanganga in straight sets 6-1, 6-2.

For this efforts Stakhovsky earns a check for $7,200.  Coming into this week's tournament he was ranked 88th in the world.  His bid to win both a singles and double championship fell short.  He and partner Marius Copil dropped their doubles title match to Dan Cox and Dan Smethurst.
