Sentencing is set for October 12 for an Endwell man who fought being taken into custody by police along the side of Route 17 in the Johnson City area during the evening rush hour April 4th.

27 year old Daontay Stephenson was a passenger in the vehicle when it was stopped by Broome County Sheriff’s officials near exit 70 at around 6 p.m. as traffic sped by.

As part of the investigation, Police found 32 grams of crack cocaine, 7 grams of heroin and marijuana as well as drug packaging materials and other items associated with drug sales in a search of his home on Hooper Road.

Stephenson was charged with felony criminal possession of a controlled substance, misdemeanor drug possession and resisting arrest.

The driver of the car, 31 year old Marissa Rogers of Binghamton was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance.
