Rumors have been flying that if Republicans lose the senate, Majority Leader John Flanagan would be out as the party’s leader and Akshar would take the reins.

The Binghamton Republican issued a statement saying he wanted to make it clear that the GOP will not lose the Senate and he continues to support Flanagan.

Akshar said any suggestions or claims that he doesn’t support the Majority Leader are simply false.

Akshar is running unopposed for the 52nd state Senate District
