A number of Section 4 teams are competing in the New York State Public High School Athletic Association playoffs over the weekend.

The Union-Endicott Tigers baseball team dropped a 3-0 decision to Section 3 Saugerties at Gary Crooks Field at Maine-Endwell in a first round state playoff.   The Tigers closed their season with a record of 9-10.  In softball competition in a Class B quarter-final Solvay eliminates Windsor 6-1.  In a D quarter-final Deposit advances with a 14-3 romp over Eldred.

June 13 all five baseball classifications will play their semi-final and championship games in Broome County.  Semi-final rounds will play at 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. with the championship games set for a 4:00 p.m. start.  Union-Endicott hosts Class AA; Maine-Endwell hosts Class A; SUNY Broome has the Class B games; Binghamton University will have the Class C competition and Class D semi-finals and championship play will be held at Conlon Field in Binghamton.
