Things have been looking good for Section 4 Football in their New York State Quarter-Final Playoff rounds versus Section 3 Teams in Syracuse.  Playing at East Syracuse-Minoa Section 4 began with a bang last night as Tioga stormed to a 54 - 13 rout of Sandy Creek.  Tioga jumped out to an early 16-0 edge and cruised from there.

Following that game the Union-Endicott Tigers topped Syracuse Nottingham 34 - 23. in Class A competition.  Tigers ace running back Michael Cheslock carried the ball for 153 yards and 3 TD's to pace the winners.

In the first game of a triple-header today the Maine-Endwell Spartans also advanced to next week's semi-final round as they clobbered the  Cazenovia Lakers 50-14 in B competition.  Standout wingback Justin Jacoby scored two touchdowns for the Spartans who are looking for their second consecutive state championship.  They won the Class A title last year and are competing at the B level this season due to decreased enrollment in the school.

and this evening at 6 in the AA quarterfinal the Binghamton Patriots meet Christian Brothers Academy.  All winners advance to next weekend's semi-final round in Rochester.
