The search continues for escaped murderers David Sweat and Richard Matt.  The Associated Press reports about 140 corrections officers were transported in school buses this morning to Malone which is about eight miles north of Owls Head and Mountain View.  They joined several hundred other officers searching a 75 square mile area of heavily wooded terrain.  Police are also going door-to-door searching homes, garages and buildings.

State Police Major Charles Guess says searchers have always assumed the two escapees are armed.  Guess says weapons and ammunition are typically stored in many of the hunting camps around that region but not everyone keeps an inventory of their firearms.

Sweat and Matt escaped from the Clinton Correctional Facility in Dannemora on Saturday morning June 6th.  Today marked the 19th day they have been on the run.
