Binghamton’s Stepping Out to Cure Scleroderma is happening Sunday, June 4 at Otsiningo Park.  The walk begins at 10 a.m. with registration starting at 9 a.m.

Scleroderma is a chronic, often progressive autoimmune disease that attacks soft tissues in the body that can include the skin as well as internal systems and can lead to organ failure and death.

Officials say the walk is the major fund-raiser and the money goes toward research.

So far, there is no cure. But progress has been made in slowing progressing and alleviating the symptoms.

In addition to the walk, there will be raffles and food available at the park.
