Kathy Whyte/ WNBF News

Executive Director of the Scleroderma Foundation Tri-State Chapter, Jay Peak and Director of Patient Education and Support, Mary Beth Bobik-Kadylak appear on the May 10 local public affairs program, Southern Tier Close Up to talk about the auto-immune disease that many people don’t know much about.

Bobik-Kadylak says there are many mysteries surrounding Scleroderma including, its cause, a cure, the many variations of the disease and its triggers.

A basic explanation of the disease is it involves a build up of collagen in connective tissues including ligaments and even the skin.

Money raised will go toward research and support services.

Registration is available online at The website closes at 12:01 a.m. May 30.
