Motorists are reminded to be on the lookout for excited children going back to school, school buses stopped with their lights flashing and reduced speed limits in school zones.

Some classes began earlier in the region but most public schools are just getting back in session.

Owego Elementary has special reason to celebrate since this is the first start of a full school year at OES since the September, 2011 flood and the year gets underway with new Owego Apalachin Superintendent Cory Green.

The new Superintendent spent the first morning riding Bus 266, driven by Rose Winter who was named New York State School Bus Driver of the year in July.
