Sayre Man Charged With Drugged Driving in Broome County

A Sayre, Pennsylvania man is being held in the Broome County Jail after Sheriff's officials received a report of a reckless driver on Route 17 in the City of Binghamton July 29th.

Deputies say 23 year old Dustin Onofre is accused of hitting several barricades with his car and swerving into the oncoming lane of traffic numerous times.

Onofre was located on Front Street in the Town of Dickinson.

Investigators say they found him to be driving under the influence of drugs. 24 packets of heroin and a small amount of marijuana were found in the BMW he was driving.

Onofre is charged with felony criminal possession of a controlled substance, driving while ability impaired by drugs, reckless driving and unlawful possession of marijuana.
