New York State Police say a Pennsylvania couple has been found to have heroin in their possession during a traffic stop on Interstate 81 in the Town of Kirkwood.

Troopers searched a Honda Accord carrying 32 year old Lance Gesford and 31 year old Nichole Brennan of Sayre Thursday, May 5 and say they found 24 grams of heroin, a digital scale, packaging materials, fentanyl strips, cell phones and drug paraphernalia.

Brennan and Gesford are charged with two counts each of criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminally using drug paraphernalia.

Officials say Gesford is also charged with criminal impersonation for allegedly presenting false identification and it was found he was wanted in Sayre and Waverly for theft and assault charges.

Brennan was additionally charged with vehicle and traffic law infractions.

Both were sent to the Broome County Jail without bail.
