Sandra Fluke, the social justice advocate who gained national recognition for her support of the Affordable Care Act's birth control insurance coverage requirement, headlined an event Saturday in support of Democratic congressional candidate Dan Lamb

The event took place at the Lost Dog Cafe on Water Street and was not open to the public.

Fluke became the focus of verbal attacks by Conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh and others after she testified on behalf of the plan to Democratic members of the House.  She had previously been denied the chance to testify before the House Oversight and Reform Committee.

Fluke spoke at this year's Democratic National Convention and has stumped for President Obama at several events throughout the country.

Dan Lamb is the Democratic Congressional Candidate for New York's 22nd Congressional District. Lamb is a strong supporter of the Affordable Care Act’s preventive health care provisions.
