The Seton Catholic Central Saints will play for the NYSPHSAA Boys Basketball Championship tonight (Saturday) at 9 PM against Mekeel Christian Academy at 9 PM at the Floyd L Maines Veterans Memorial Arena.  Both teams earned gut-wrenching double overtime victories in action on Friday night.

The Saints defeated Health Sciences Charter from Buffalo 65-61 to advance while Mekeel took Briarcliff to a pair of extra sessions to secure the win.  Senior standout Leo Gallagher led the way as he has for much of the season.  Despite saddled with four personal fouls and spending ample time out of the lineup he starred in the clutch.  In the second overtime Gallagher made two precision passes to setup Peter Hartrick buckets. He scored a pair of buckets and clinched it with a steal in the waning seconds to ice the win.  Gallagher finished with 21 points.

Mekeel Christian Academy from section 2 also had quite a battle on their hands before they topped Briarcliff 68-61 also in double overtime.  Binghamton Bearcat Caleb Stewart's brother Carter is a starter for Mekeel.

Tournament play continues throughout the day today and concludes tomorrow afternoon.  All games are being played at the Floyd L Maines Veterans Memorial Arena.
