Today is Sacred Sites Open House Sunday around Broome County.  24 area churches, mosques and synagogues are holding open houses to enable visitors to tour and view their unique architecture and designs.

The Sacred Sites Open House Sunday is organized by the Preservation Association of the Southern Tier (PAST) and promotes historic preservation through community education, tours, exhibitions and special events like the open house weekend.

Houses of worship in Binghamton, Johnson City, Endwell and Endicott are participating.  Hours vary at each individual location.  In some locations tours are being given. Others are offering music presentations and informative lectures.

For a schedule of participating worship sites you can log on to:

pastny.org

and click on Tours and Events.

Many of the participating locations have been a part of the open house celebration for several years.  New venues are highlighted on the PAST website.
