Virginia-based Sabra Dipping Co., LLC is voluntarily recalling about 30,000 cases of Classic Hummus, sold nation-wide, due to possible contamination with Listeria.

The Classic varieties in the 10 oz. and 30 oz. containers, Classic Hummus without Garnish 32 oz., Sabra Classic Hummus 17 oz. Six Pack and Hummus Dual Pac Classic/ Garlic 23.5 oz., all with Best Before dates of May 11 and May 15/

A listing of the UPC/SKU codes can be found at the Food and Drug Administration website www.fda.gov/safety/recalls.

Consumers with any of the recalled product should dispose of it or return it to the place of purchase for a refund.

Listeria monocytogenes is an organism that can cause serious infections in the elderly, children or people with compromised immune systems.  The FDA says there have been no reports so far of the products causing any illness.
