The Binghamton Rumble Ponies are certainly hotter than the weather !  Binghamton and the rest of the Eastern League have had an almost continual battle with the weather during the first month of the season.  But in the past four games the weather has done nothing to cool off Binghamton hitters.

The Rumble Ponies have won four straight and in the three-game sweep of the SeaWolves Binghamton outscored their opponents 25-7.  In Sunday's series finale the Rumble Ponies had to go to extra innings to defeat Erie 6-4 in ten innings.  It earned the Rumble Ponies their second sweep of the season.  Binghamton's Josh Torres upped his record to 2-0 in relief.  Joseph Shaw went 5.2 innings and gave up two runs in a start for Binghamton.

Matt Oberste's infield single plated Jeff McNeil in the top of the tenth inning with what proved to be the winning tally.  The Rumble Ponies upped their record to 11-9 while Erie falls to 7-14.

The Rumble Ponies continue their road trip tonight (Monday) in Akron.  They meet the RubberDucks in the first of three consecutive contests at Canal Park.  Air is set for 6:20 P.M. on News Radio 1290 WNBF.
