In a late morning game today (Wednesday) the Hartford Yard Goats defeated the Binghamton Rumble Ponies 7-3 at Dunkin Donuts Park in Hartford.  The Yard Goats took two out of three in the series against Binghamton.

Mickey Jannis started for Binghamton and suffered his first loss to put his record at 3-1.  Jannis gave up three runs on six hits in five innings of pitching.  Jack Wynkoff went 5.1 innings for the Yard Goats and upped his record to 2-1 on the season.

Ryan Metzler and Garrett Hampson each slammed a home run in the winning cause for Hartford. Jeff McNeil drove in two of Binghamton's three runs and Peter Alonso knocked in the other.

The Rumble Ponies continue their road trip as they head to Portland for five consecutive games.  The series begins tomorrow with a doubleheader beginning at 5:00 PM (air at 4:45 P.M. on News Radio 1290 WNBF).  The Rumble Ponies return to NYSEG Stadium on Monday, May 14th with a 6:35 game against Erie.
