For Binghamton area baseball fans the night has finally come.  The home opener is set for the newly renovated NYSEG Stadium as the Binghamton Rumble Ponies host the Erie SeaWolves at 6:35 PM.  The festivities begin  at 5:15 PM with an official ribbon cutting to unveil the stadium improvements.  Taking part will be be Senator Fred Akshar, Binghamton Mayor Rich David and team owner John Hughes.

Tonight's first pitch is set for 6:35 (air at 6:20 PM on News Radio 1290 WNBF).  The Rumble Ponies finished their opening-week road trip with a 4-3 extra inning win in Portland, Maine yesterday and are 3-3 heading into the home opener.

P.J.Conlon will make the start for Binghamton tonight.  He is 1-0 after pitching five innings and giving up two runs in Binghamton's 8-2 win over New Hampshire.  He is a top prospect and was named the New York Mets' Minor League Pitcher of the Year after going 12-2 with a 1.65 ERA with Columbia and St. Lucie.
