Binghamton Police are investigating a reported armed robbery downtown early September 1.

Police were called to an area around Court and Carroll Streets shortly after 2:30 a.m.

A man and woman said they were walking down the street when a man in 160 Court Street yelled at them then came outside and confronted them with a knife that was made to look like a handgun.

Police say 21 year old Joshua Hagerdorn is accused of making the victims empty their pockets before going back in the building where he was quickly arrested.

Hagerdorn, who was on parole, is charged with felony robbery and  criminal possession of a weapon.
