The City of Binghamton is advertising for bids from contractors to start the reconstruction of Riverside Drive.

Mayor Richard David says the project is expected to cost about $2.6 million and will reconstruct the road, water, sewer and sanitary lines and curbs between Front and Beethoven Streets.

The work is expected to start in June and be completed in November.

The second phase to complete reconstruction between Beethoven and the Johnson City line will be done next year but a top coat patch is to be applied to that portion of the road this year as a temporary fix to the rough ride.

The work is funded by the 2014 bond.
