Last (Tuesday) night at NYSEG Stadium could not have turned out any better for the Binghamton Mets.  Members of the New York Mets front office were on hand to present National League Championship Rings to pitcher Akeel Morris who saw Major League action with the Mets, Binghamton Manager Pedro Lopez and his coaching staff, B-Mets General Manager Jim Weed and Owner John Hughes.  Then Binghamton went out and defeated Portland 3-2 for their third straight win.

In a pre-game ceremony New York Mets COO Jeff Wilpon and General Manager Sandy Alderson awarded the prized rings symbolic of the club's National League Championship and those who were keys in developing talent to power the move to that title.

In the game B-Mets starting pitcher Andrew Barbosa was outstanding striking out 10 batters over 7.1 innings of work and Morris earned the win closing the door on the Sea Dogs over 1.2 innings.  2013 number one draft pick Dominic Smith had a key at-bat taking a pitch to the opposite field and driving in the winning run in the eighth inning.

The B-Mets finish their seven-game homestand tonight at 6:35 against the Sea Dogs.  Binghamton has now won three games in a row.  Air is set for 6:20 PM on News Radio 1290 WNBF.
