Some people who live and work near the Endwell watershed were surprised earlier this month when the site was suddenly emptied.

Public works commissioner Daniel Schofield says ZMK Construction was hired to do the work.

The watershed was drained down and the leftover muck was removed so repairs could be accomplished.

Schofield says the work is expected to cost between $30,000 and $50,000. He says the job could be completed by next Monday.

The Brixius Creek watershed is designed to hold up to 61 million gallons of water.

When the work has been finished, the watershed will refill itself.
