Kathy Whyte/WNBF News [file][/caption]State Police say the incident in Northeastern Pennsylvania that sparked alarm due to posts on social media April 10 may be a case of murder-suicide as well as a marijuana growing operation and is still under investigation.

Authorities say they found what appear to be human remains in a home and a burn barrel on Leonard Road in Mount Pleasant Township in Wayne County.

An autopsy has been performed and DNA samples collected to identify the victim or victims and determine cause and manner of death.

A search of the property turned up over 270 marijuana plants in the barn, seven plants in the home and about 50 pounds of processed pot.

Authorities say they are looking for a missing person named Joseph Mastropole.  Information about his whereabouts can be called in at (570) 253-7126.
