A Red Flag Warning for fire danger has been issued for parts of the Twin Tiers.

The National Weather service says with wind gusts of up to 35 miles an hour and dry conditions, there is a critical danger for fires.

There is already a ban on open burning in New York through the middle of next month.

The red flag warning was issued for April 24 from 11 a.m. to 8 in the evening for the Susquehanna region and Western Catskills in New York and the Poconos in Pennsylvania.

Authorities say any fires could rapidly spread.
