Today has shaped up to be a memorable one for Champions Tour rookie Kevin Sutherland from Long Beach, CA.  Sutherland fired a 13 under par round of 59 to set a new Champions Tour record for a single 18 hole round of golf.  Sutherland started the day at 1-under but went to -9 after 8 holes and -11 after 11.  He just missed out on par on the 18th hole but had to settle for a bogey.

Sutherland missed a seven-foot putt on the 18th that would have gotten him to 58.  Sutherland made one eagle and 12 birdies along the way today.  59 matches the lowest 18 hole score on the PGA Tour as well.

Hot on the heels of Sutherland is Steve Lowery who shot a 65 today to move to 13-under just one stroke behind the leader.  John Cook who was a co-leader after the first round
