New York State police say they are investigating a report that a razor blade was discovered in a package of Skittles candy in Delaware County.

Authorities say a town of Roxbury resident reported an X-Acto knife-type razor was found in a 1.8 ounce bag of Sour Skittles candy.

Investigators say the candy was said to have been obtained while someone was trick-or-treating.

Police say it appeared the candy package had been sealed before it was opened on November 9.

Officials say the candy was traced back to a CVS Pharmacy store in the town of Margaretville.

Investigators say they have been unable to determine the source of the blade. State police are recommending that all candy be thoroughly checked before it is consumed.
