A group that builds wheelchair ramps at homes for needy residents is celebrating a milestone.

The Ramp It Up youth mentoring program administered through the Broome County Council of Churches constructed its 100th ramp at the home of an Endicott family.

Youth from the Windsor Middle School Service Club paired with adult mentors to build the access equipment at the house on September 19.

Organizers say nearly 1,000 volunteers, about 800 of them young people, have taken part in Ramp It Up since the program launched in 2009.
