A pasta dinner and trivia fundraiser is being held Sunday, September 27 to help a family in Nichols to rebuild their horse barn that was destroyed in a spectacular fire that stopped traffic on State Route 17 in April.

April 27, the Martin family's horse barn, located right next to the highway, burned to the ground.  Broome Sheriff's Deputies and State Troopers were among the first on the scene to make sure the owners and all the horses were safe.

The Help Raise the Barn pasta dinner will be held at the Owego Veterans of Foreign Wars building at 207 Main Street, Owego from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

A $10 donation is requested and includes dinner and trivia.  Children under 5 are free.

Organizers say there is a $75 first place prize and $25 second place prize for the trivia that begins at 3 p.m. in addition to 50/50 and basket raffles.
