There will be no stop of the Canadian Pacific Holiday Train in Binghamton this year.

The brightly decorated train has made a stop in Binghamton right after Thanksgiving for years, raising food and hundreds of dollars for the Community Hunger Outreach Warehouse or (CHOW).  A stop in Otsego County benefited Opportunities for Otsego’s Holiday Basket programs and the Salvation Army.

The sale of D&H railroad tracks in the region to Norfolk Southern in September has halted stops at the Conklin Rail Yard and in the Oneonta area in New York and Great Bend and Hallstead in Pennsylvania.

Canadian Pacific is still expected to make a donation to local agencies this year.
