Broome County officials say a railroad project will result in the closure of a busy roadway in Conklin.

Powers Road is expected to be out of service for several days starting Monday.

Canadian Pacific Railway plans to do work at the Powers Road crossing.

Powers Road will be open on either side of the railroad crossing. But drivers heading east toward Conklin Road will be detoured. Those motorists will use Hardie Road and Shaw Road to connect with Conklin Road.

Powers Road likely will be closed for most of next week while the construction work is in progress.
