The Binghamton Bearcats were defeated by the Colgate Raiders in Hamilton last (Monday) night by the score of 76-68.  The two teams were deadlocked at 33-33 at halftime.  Binghamton played even or slightly ahead early in the second half but a substantial edge in rebounding enabled the Raiders to outscore BU 48-36 in the second half and secure the win.

The Bearcats took 77 shots in the game as BU opened up the play with an uptempo attack but the Raiders were happy to up their speed of play as well. By the middle part of the second half Binghamton would be able to cut the Raiders lead only to have Colgate come right back to keep ample distance between the two schools.

Binghamton was paced by freshman guard Sam Sessoms who scored 19 points.  Double figures were also put up by Caleb Stewart (12 points), 11 points for Chance Barnard and ten points for Richie Caldwell.  Barnard registered a double-double grabbing 11 rebounds as well.  The Raiders were lead by center Rapolas Ivanauskas who also notched a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds.

The win moved Colgate's record to 4-1 while the Bearcats drop to 1-4.  The Raiders travel to the Carrier Dome to meet Syracuse Wednesday night while the Bearcats are idle until Saturday afternoon when they host Sacred Heart at 2:00 P.M.
