The Delaware County Health Department says two people are undergoing treatment after possibly being exposed to rabies.

Officials say a calf had to be put down after being attacked by a rabid skunk in Hamden and a rabid raccoon was found in Sidney.

The people apparently were exposed to the virus in the incident in Hamden.

People should immediately report any sick-or strangely acting wildlife, make sure pets and livestock are vaccinated, secure garbage and avoid storing any food outside, do not feed wildlife or stray animals and report all animal bites and contact with bats to the local county health department.
