Queens Man Convicted in Rape of a Binghamton Girl

A Queens man is expected to be sentenced in December for raping a 17-year-old girl at a home in Binghamton in March of last year.

22 year old Hemchandra Persaud was convicted of rape by a Broome County Jury September 28 and prosecutors say more charges are pending as the jury was not able to reach agreement on another rape charge that alleged Persaud used force or made threats to the girl.

He was released and ordered to surrender his passport.
