Cesar Puello slugged two solo home runs to lead the Binghamton Mets to a 5-4 win over the Trenton Thunder today at NYSEG Stadium.  The Baseball In Education Day contest was played in front of 4,388 fans including many students from area elementary schools.

Puello has been red-hot at the plate and has hit five home runs in the past four games.  His second homer today came in the bottom of the eighth inning and proved to be the deciding tally.

Corry Mazzoni pitched a solid 6.2 innings but got a no-decision.  Closer Jeff Walters got Jack Leathersich out of a jam after Trenton had tied the game in the top of the eighth.  Walters stayed on to shut down the Thunder in the ninth inning and earn the decision.

With the win the B-Mets take the series winning two out of three games.  Binghamton heads out to play the next six games on the road beginning with tomorrow night's 7 PM outing in Altoona.  Airtime is 6:45 PM on News Radio 1290 WNBF.
