The  New York State Department of Transportation says long-term lane reductions can be expected in the Binghamton area on State Route 17 westbound between exit 72 (Mygatt Street) and exit 71 (Airport Road) as crews construct a retaining wall for the Prospect Street Connector in the City of Binghamton.Motorists in the area of the Prospect Mountain project can also expect to find Interstate 81 northbound and State Route 17 westbound between exit 3 (Broad Avenue) and exit 4 (Binghamton/Hillcrest) will be reduced to one lane between 6 p.m. and 7 a.m. nightly through the morning of March 29th.

At  the same time, the Interstate 81 northbound exit ramp to State Route 7 soughbound will be closed as crews work to remove the concrete barrier to accomodate future lane shifts.

In addition, the State Route 7 southbound ramps for traffic going to Interstate 81 in both the southbound and northbound directions and State Route 17 east and westbound are closed nightly from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. through the morning of Friday, March 29th.
