Today is Primary Day in New York State. The polls in Broome and Tioga counties will be open from noon to 9 p.m.

Democrats will choose a candidate for governor. Andrew Cuomo, who is seeking a second four-year term, is facing two challengers: Law professor Zephyr Teachout and political activist Randy Credico.

The winner will take on the Republican candidate - Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino - in the November 4 general election.

Republicans in the 52nd Senate District are selecting a candidate. Incumbent Thomas Libous of Binghamton is being challenged by businessman Denver Jones of Candor.

The victor will face the Democratic candidate - former Vestal town supervisor Anndrea Starzak - in November.
