A 50-year-old Broome County man was arrested after a car crash near his home.

Authorities say Steven Snow of Port Road in Port Crane backed out of his driveway Monday evening in a vehicle that went across the street into a neighbor's yard, striking a marker sign.

According to the Broome County Sheriff's Office, Snow then drove back onto Port Road and headed toward Route 369.

The car Snow was driving is said to have veered across the opposite lane and onto the shoulder of the road, striking several more signs.

Police say the vehicle then became stuck and could not be moved.

Investigators say Snow was treated at Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City for a knee injury.

They say he refused to submit to a chemical test.

Snow has been charged with felony driving while intoxicated. Sheriff's deputies say it's a felony offense because of a previous DWI conviction within the past decade.

Snow also faces counts of leaving the scene of an accident, uninspected motor vehicle and failure to maintain lane.

Snow was ordered to appear in Fenton town court at a future date.
