Authorities say 37-year-old Edward Shelton and his girlfriend, 22-year-old Cheyenne Koban, were arrested on Wednesday.

According to New York State Police, troopers were informed that a .22 caliber rifle had been taken from a home on Porter Hollow Road in the town of Fenton.

Investigators determined Shelton and Koban stole the weapon when they moved out of the residence on July 15.

Shelton and Koban were arraigned in Fenton town court. They were released without bail being set.
