Officials say a Vestal man arrested October 28 on child pornography charges had been employed by the local council of the Boy Scouts of America.

Baden-Powell Council director, Rick Christ says the allegations against 50 year old Nathan Boguhn are unacceptable and he has been dismissed from his paid position.

Federal Prosecutors say Boguhn is accused of possessing and distributing child pornography from his home computer.

Officials alleged the man had been distributing child porn between June and October of this year as an undercover FBI officer with the Child Exploitation Task Force reported that Boguhn had downloaded explicit videos.

Federal prosecutors say the Vestal man had admitted having sexual interest in boys aged 12 to 14 as long as he could remember and had been downloading videos for about five years.

If convicted, Boguhn could be sentenced to a minimum of five years and up to 20 years in prison and would have to register as a sex offender.
