Polka music fans have listened to the Barb Mack Show on News Radio 1290 WNBF for over a decade and one-half on Sunday mornings. For over 40 years polka fans have heard Barb on the radio in the Southern Tier.  She started her broadcasting career when she was just eight years old helping her father, the late Bill Mack with his polka show.  Due to health issues Barb has had to give up her Sunday show.  The polka music on WNBF will continue hosted by Barb's long-time news anchor Steve Krall.  Steve has not only anchored news and sports on Barb's show but has been the host of the program whenever Barb has been off or on vacation.

Barb Mack has had a large following with her radio show over the years.  She also served as a marketing consultant for WNBF and Townsquare Media stations WAAL, WHWK, Wild 104 and WYOS.  Barb also had a loyal following of fans who traveled with her on bus trips to see Jimmy Sturr and other polka greats as well as many other vacations and trips that were hosted by her.

Barb Mack has had a major impact on polka music and WNBF's listening audience. She will be greatly missed in all facets of WNBF's operation.  In 2013 she was honored by the Southerrn Tier Broadcasters Association as their "Broadcaster of the Year" Last month, she and her father, Bill Mack, were inducted into the group's Hall of Fame.  Their award is on display at the Bundy Museum in Binghamton.

All of us want to congratulate Barb on her many accomplishments and wish her a speedy recovery in her battle with rheumatoid arthritis.  She is and will be missed by all of us at Townsquare Media as well thousands of listeners around our Southern Tier of New York and Northern Tier of Pennsylvania.
