The countdown to clinch a playoff spot for the Binghamton Rumble Ponies continues with the magic number now down to two.  Any combination of Binghamton wins and Reading losses will insure that Binghamton's season will continue into the post season.

The Rumble Ponies and New Hampshire Fisher Cats split a doublehader Wednesday night at NYSEG Stadium.  Binghamton won the first game 2-1 and dropped the nightcap 3-2.  Cory Burns earned the win in relief in game one to give him his first victory of the season.  Drew Smith started and took the loss to drop to 3-2 this season.

With the split the Rumble Ponies up their record to 76-51.  Tonight, (Thursday) Binghamton begins a five-game series in Portland, Maine.  Air is set for 6:45 on News Radio 1290 WNBF.  Tomorrow, the Rumble Ponies and the Sea Dogs meet in a doubleheader beginning at 5 PM.
