John Fogerty wrote it, Creedence Clearwater Revival sang it and the Binghamton Rumble Ponies are asking..."Who'll Stop the Rain ?"  Another scheduled Rumble Ponies' game was KO'd by weather last evening. Rain stopped and started on and off throughout the day but when it started up again in mid to late afternoon you knew the way things have gone this spring that the game was in doubt.  The Rumble Ponies finally announced shortly after the scheduled 6:35 start that the rain was here to stay and there would be no game.

With last night's rainout the teams meet for a doubleheader beginning at 5:05 today.  Including last night's game the Rumble Ponies have had 11 games postponed due to inclement weather.  Seven of those postponed games were scheduled in Binghamton. Rain even followed the Rumble Ponies all way south to Richmond where they got rained out on May 23rd.

Over the past 11 seasons  2014 looms worse at this stage as far as rainouts and postponements.  That season brought 13 rainouts.

However, that season also brought Binghamton (then Mets), a first place regular season finish and an Eastern League Championship as the B-Mets swept Richmond 3-0 to win the overall championship. Binghamton fans could feel a little better about this wet weather if their team duplicated the accomplishments of 2014.
