The Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force executed a search warrant Wednesday morning at a two-family home at 109 Cleveland Avenue.

Authorities say they found a small amount of fentanyl, along with marijuana and some ground-up codeine.

The task force was assisted by Endicott police and Broome County sheriff's deputies.

Police say two people were arrested in the aftermath of the raid.

Investigators say 44-year-old Floyd Crockett was charged with two felony counts of first-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia. He also was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana. 35-year-old Danielle Lorenzo was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance and two counts of second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia.

According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse, fentanyl is similar to morphine but is 50 to 100 times more potent. Law enforcement officials have blamed a growing number of overdose deaths on heroin laced with fentanyl.
