State police are trying to find the driver of a truck involved in a Cortland County hit-and-run crash.

State police say the incident happened late Wednesday on Route 221 in the town of Willet.

Troopers were told by a person who called 911 around 10:20 p.m. that a truck went off the roadway, then turned around on a lawn before striking a fence post.

The truck stopped briefly but then left the scene, heading west on Route 221.

The vehicle was described as a black truck with a loud exhaust.
