Authorities say Justin Knapp was apprehended at about 4:10 p.m. August 19 in the Town of Fenton.

Lt. Benjamin Harting said Knapp sustained cuts when he dove out a glass window in a mobile home at Virginia City Trailer Park on Route 369 in Port Crane.

Harting said a Taser also was used in taking Knapp into custody.

A sheriff's deputy had gone to a residence on Smith Hill Road in the Town of Lisle August 18 in an effort to arrest Knapp on a parole warrant.

No one answered the door but a vehicle sped away from the home a short time later.

The deputy stopped the vehicle and the woman who was driving admitted Knapp had been at the residence earlier.

Authorities say a Jeep Liberty parked behind the residence contained what appeared to be a one-pot meth-making setup and something that appeared to be a pipe bomb.

A robotic device from the Endicott Police Department bomb squad removed the suspicious item, which was determined to be non-explosive. State police removed the methamphetamine production gear.

Investigators had released a photograph of Knapp as they sought information from the public in locating him. Harting said they found the man after following up on tips.
